These are fragments recovered from the Egarian ruins found in the Magoros system, both from the Maze City and the Memory Archive within. Dull, slightly opaque crystals they produce a variety of colours when light is shone into them in a method that defies prediction by the Adeptus Mechanicus. Like all Egarian technology, their true function and method of operation remains unknown.

The Shards were eventually used by the Jokaero in the construction of a new Augur Array for the In Purgatio Lumen. Their purpose in such a construction is currently unknown.
