The Archeo-Exhumators are a perfectly legitimate and well-funded organisation within the Calixis Sector and beyond. Composed primarily of scholars and outcast members of the Adeptus Mechanicum, they operate inside of the Calixis Sector, excavating long-dead human empires, or Imperial worlds that have fallen victim to calamity and rediscover the truth of what happened, as well as any valuable technologies that lay in those areas.

The Cold Trade in the Koronus Expanse is heavily suspected to identify the most promising or radical of these members and shepherd them inside to conduct excavations of Xenos empires and other illegal operations. These activities have never been proven, and this organisation is also the legitimate point of contact for many buyers of the Cold Trade, meaning it is a well-connected and powerful organisation.
