In his journeys among the crew, Jequin Hos was slowly able to gather to him the poor souls who themselves had previous encounters with the foul Xenos races which besiege the Imperium. Those who he brought within the fold possessed certain assets – a working knowledge of the species of the Expanse, an ability to stand out among the crowd, and a healthy dose of fear.

Over the course of their career, the Ladies have tested their mettle – stoically holding their ground against xenos horrors, as well as honing their skills at small talk to pass the time and distract guards (or the Arch-Militant).

In the wake of the Damarian Conflict, the ladies were given a round of Rejuvenat treatment and grafted with the finest Subskin Armour this side of the Lathe Worlds. Either Jequin Hos feels bad about putting them in danger all the time, or simply wants to make sure his pretty things stay that way.
