Arriving back on Port Wander, the Explorers were expecting to find Karsus Har in custody or escaped having sworn revenge. However, they instead found this gaunt, smouldering visage of a man claiming credit for killing Karsus Har for soiling the Ventan Iron Hounds’ good name, and thanking the Explorers for their help in bringing him down.

Although barely managing to mask his hostility towards the Explorers, he is aware his organisation faces greater scrutiny from the Battlefleet, and has made no move against them at this time. His long-term goals are currently unknown, but he is clearly no friend to Jequin Hos or his crew.

I have only briefly encounter Mr Bathazar. Based on the brief meeting with the ‘Inner Council’ he seems to be a much more dangerous man than the man he replaced and presumably killed, Karsus Har. It has been noted that Astropath Eckhart deems him a dangerous man, in that he was able to see through Astropath Eckharts ‘disguise’ that he used while raiding Karsus Hars facilities.

I disagree with Astropath assessment. Is it alarming that he found out: possibly. But we should not worry ourselves over such a peon as he ‘reorganizes’ the Hounds on Port Wander. He will likely have his hands full cleaning up the mess his predecessor created. In addition he may have many intelligence assets at his disposal but he may not have the means or the will to use such information to actually hurt any Hos operations. I would like to think that now Commander Sans will keep a close watch over any Hound activity further hurting any attempts of the Hounds to unjust hurt us after we help route out heresy and crime in the Hounds organization! If anything at some point in the future we should look into how strong the Ventan Iron Hounds actually are and simply keep an eye on them.

Now I disagree that we should work for Mr. Balthazar, in trying to locate the Hounds lost ship The Widening Gyre. He perhaps might be actually wanting his ship cargo back, but it is also likely it could be a trap. Simply sending us to be set up or possibly to have us be attacked while we explore Grace by an sort of nefarious means. While on this mission we should be very careful about whoever we meet as they could be working for him.
